The Hart

STRUCTURE
FUNCTION
DEOXY/OXY BLOOD
LEFT ATRIUM
Pumps blood into the left ventricle
receives oxygenated blood
LEFT VENTRICLE
pumps / releases  blood into into the whole body ( into tissues)
oxygenated blood
RIGHT ATRIUM
pumps blood into the right ventricle
dexygenated blood
RIGHT VENTRICLE
pumps  blood to pulmonary valve and then pulmonary artery and then lungs.
de-oxygenated blood
PULMONARY ARTERY
Pumps de-oxygenated blood from right ventricle to the lungs
de- oxygenated
AORTA
used as a chamber to pump blood to the aortic valve
oxygenated
PULMONARY VEINS
carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium of the heart.
oxygenated
SUPERIOR VENA CAVA
brings deoigenated blood from the upper part of the body to the hear t
 d-eoxygenated
INFERIOR VENA CAVA
brings deoxognated blood from the lower part of the body and brings it to the right atrium
de-oxygenated
ATRIOVENTRICULAR VALVES (Mitral & Tricuspid)
separates the atria ventricles , allows blood to flow from the atria to the ventricles and prevents flow in the opposite direction
 Both
CHORDAE TENDINAE
protects the walls of the ventricles  ( fiber strings)
 both
SEMI LUNAR VALVES (Pulmonary & Aortic)
control the blood from moving back into the ventricle
both
SEPTUM
sepetates the left atrium and ventrivle mixing with the rest.

The Coronary Arteries

The Coronary Arteries

The aorta is the largest artery. Its purpose is serve as  the main supplier of oxygenated blood.  It breaks into two small branches the right coronary artery and the left  , they are used so for the heart muscle. ( the heart needs blood too!) The right coronary artery supplies blood mainly to the right side of the heart and is usually smaller because the blood pumps only to the lungs.( a much smaller trip)
heart, following that the The left coronary artery supplies blood to the left side of the heart. The left side of the heart is larger and more muscular because it pumps blood to the rest of the body. ( it takes alot more effort.

as well as a Tabata style workout 1 min work 15 sec rest for 10 mins ( With Emily and Elise)

Push ups
Sit ups
Squats
One leg balance 30 sec each
Mountain climbers
Side steps
Stairs/ squat hold
In curve hold/ boat
Plank hold

After that took a quick rest , did some stretching and went on the elliptical.

I found that the most challenging thing for me was the push ups. However I felt really good about pushing through the cycle workout. What I want to see in the future is more upper body strength as well as improving my cardio.

Why Do I want to take Co-op

I decided to take Co-op kinetics because it interests me. I value fitness as much as I want to have  more knowledge in it. I plan to study criminology in post secondary and I am currently taking a duel credit course. Outside of school I enjoy art . This summer Iv went on jogs , but have been particular practicing on hill runs, similar to the ones done at the school. For this semester my fitness goal is make new records for myself as well as beating them. I want to have a strong lactic acid threshold because I want push myself .

On another note I'm extremely  inspired by animals and nature ever since I can remember. I enjoy camping swimming hiking  as nothing is more valuable to me than to be outside feeling the fresh air and observing the scenery. I also enjoy art such as drawing painting molding and literature. I found that these things have also relaxed me.
